Rachel Kay

This was a project on creating a space for the Lovings, an interracial couple from the 1960s living in Virginia. It was against the law at the time to get married as an interracial couple and their relationship was very negatively recieved. My design was based on the idea of a secret garden in which you can only enter if you try hard enough to find the entryway. Forbidden couples could meet in private or it could just become an escape from everyday life.
